◎简 介
这又是一部针对当时国家政治局势赶拍上映的影片，利用松竹公司的资金优势，将学生反对日美安全保障条约的游行、示威及内部争论过程搬上银幕。大岛渚还是不能忘记自己学生时代的历史教训，并利用这种经验，着重寻找指出学生运动的意义和失败的原因。同时，形势的紧迫和影片的特殊性，使得大岛渚在影片中采用了不同寻常的拍摄手法。在1961年《电影旬报》的一篇名为《镜头是什么》的文章中，大岛渚说：“我的最新作品《日本的夜与雾》只有43个镜头。这就是原则上所说的一个场景一个镜头。”这种尊重现实时间空间的手法在当时的日本影坛还是极为少见的，但对于营造纪实效果、对学运进行全景而真实的观察，却是极有成效的。
影片只上映了四天，就发生了右翼少年刺杀日本社会党委员长的政治事件。松竹公司迫于政治和经济（影片票房不如人意）压力，将影片停映。停映几个月以后，大岛渚与一批松竹同事集体...Video
