六岁的阿托斯和阿米因在布鲁塞尔的莫伦贝克区长大。在这个充满自杀式炸弹和巡逻警察的街区里，两个小朋友不由得开始思考起古代先哲们也思考过的根本问题：人类之上有更高的存在吗？大自然是神吗？阿米因信仰真主，阿托斯也想要一个这样属于他自己的神，但朋友弗洛却断定“相信上帝的人是疯子……他们以为上帝存在，其实根本没有上帝”，于是问题变得更加复杂了。孩子们的思维清晰明了，简单直白。他们撕去精神的外衣，直探知识的本质，从虚无中找寻意义，在环境中追求真理。这一切也启迪着成年人对待人性的方式，尤其是当人性被剥夺之时。Video
