「少女情懷總是詩」，是1977年坎城影展最受爭議的影片，以大膽而唯美的映像，描述一名情竇初開的女學生與她的初戀，而她的戀愛過程中，又牽扯到女同性戀的情節。標題的「碧麗提絲」，是古希臘一位生活在賽浦路斯的交際花，據說她曾經以跟她同一個時代的古希臘女詩人賽佛（Sappho）類似的風格，寫下不少描述女同志愛情生活的詩篇，因此後來成了西方女同志的象徵人物，而她和賽佛所居住的小島「蕾絲柏斯」（Lesbos），更是女同志「蕾絲邊」（Lesbian）這個名詞的來源。1955年，最早成立的女同志組織之一，就用「碧麗提絲的女兒」（Daughters of Bilitis）當作名稱。
◎幕后揭秘
影片改编自法国同性恋作家Pierre Louys 的原著小说《比利蒂斯之歌》，1955年在美国成立的第一个女同性恋组织“The Daughters of Bilitis”的名字即源于此。而大作曲家德彪西曾依据《比利蒂斯之歌》中的一首诗《The Flute》 创作了著名的印象派管弦乐《牧神午后序曲》。
这部影片中的主题曲可谓历史上最著名的爱情旋律之一，是许多乐迷们的最爱。而音乐家提姆·莱斯对这部配乐主旋律非常激赏，特别征得本片配乐作者Francis Lai的同意，填上了英文歌词，改编成流行歌曲“The Second Time”，由世界音乐剧名伶Elaine Paige唱出，成了她的招牌歌曲之一。
本片配乐作者Francis Lai荣获1978年法国恺撒电影奖最佳配乐提名。
片中多场性爱场景和少女赤身裸体的优美画面均在摄影的舒展镜头下，显得唯美雅致，镜头的处理如同拍人体艺术照一般清新淡雅，非职业演员的表演也很称职，摄影美工的表现非常出色，而配乐更找来名家弗朗西斯·莱担纲，合作出一部品格高雅的情色电影。
